Paint Chip Paintings

Buying paint as a teenager, I noticed a few intriguing associations between the color names. It suggested some underlying logic, or maybe illogic–I couldn’t decide. I stood in the parking lot and thumbed through my stack of paint chips, transfixed by this strange pairing of word with color. Ten years later, I again found myself in a paint store. I soon found myself in another, and another after that.
