Clear Blue Sky

One convention of billboard advertising is to feature a product against a clear blue sky. I liked seeing the printed sky against the actual sky, but had no use for the product. So I called up a billboard company and asked if I could have some of their leftover printed sheets. Then I cut away the cigarette, the beer, the lifestyle until I was just left with an expanse of monochromatic sky made up of dots. I recreated those skies dot-for-dot in my paintings.
